Holy Moly Guacamole

It felt like yesterday that we sold at the crew racing event and we were packing up again tor the Avocado Festival located in Fallbrook, CA. We learned about the Avocado Festival from the promoter we worked with in Encinitas back in November. I know when I signed up April was going to be a crazy, hectic and busy month but the Avocado Festival was only one day and one day shows tend to be very cost effective since you do not have to worry about hotel expenses and other added expenses. Furthermore, I have heard wonderful things about Fallbrook and it is such a short distance away from Palm Springs.

On the down side, we had to rise before the sun and get a lot done in one day… This turns into a 16 hour day without a real break. All in all, the day was a success. We made a good amount of sales, picked up some custom orders, handed out tons of business cards, met some wonderful people and did I mention the guacamole???? Divine.

I didn’t get to chat with our new friend we made at the Crew Racing event but my dad made sure to say hello. By the way, here is her website http://www.Leksart.com Lek is a very talented artist and maybe there will be a show in your neighborhood to check out her artistry in person.

We were lucky enough to bring one of our original muses Jack. He is my parent’s Black Lab. He is the closest thing to a younger brother and we just adore him. When we are fortunate enough to bring him, we are all in a better frame of mind. For the most part, his day was drama free. There were a few small instances where he got a bit spooked. The first occurred when a group of Scottish bagpipes and large drums decided to walk directly in front of us. The second is when a Scottie came up to say hello and bit him directly on the nose. Needless to say, I don’t think Jack will be booking his flight to Scotland anytime soon.

Above is an example of one of our custom orders. The photo shows a Felt Silhouette of a Yorkie named Quincy and a Screenprint Pug named Rosie. This is what makes our animal inspired pillows so wonderful for gifts whether the gift is for a loved one or for yourself. This series of pillows can be easily customized to suit your taste and personalized to have any verbiage printed instead of the breed’s name. We are also able to mix and match fabric combinations. For example, if you have red in your color scheme we can easily incorporate a red and white ticking stripe instead of the black and ivory shown above. Overall, we welcome customizations this is how we grow.

The day was an overall success. Except for the early rise and a few conflicts with some unruly Scotties and bagpipes, we were all very happy with the day and would love to participate again next year. We all (including Jack) got through this week with heavy eye lids…

We created some new products that I am excited to share and will very soon. Next stop, Encinitas for the Street Fair on the historic PCH. It is a two day event (April 28th & April 29th). Feel free to contact me for further information or you can visit their website at http://www.encinitas101.com/events/

Feel free to contact me with any questions ecarlateboutique@yahoo.com and/or visit our website http://www.ecarlateboutique.etsy.com to take a look at our product line. For the Palm Springs locals and visitors, we participate at the Village Fest each and every Thursday. It is located on Palm Canyon from 6:00 PM till 10:00 PM. Our booth is located in front of Frenchies and across the street from California Pizza Kitchen.

Take Care,
